The wave of wireless data innovation that has swept the world since the internet first appeared takes the potential for human growth to an entirely new dimension. It changed the game once again.

Now you can actually have a tiny device that sits in your pocket that is wirelessly connected to all documented human knowledge and wisdom since the beginning of time. This is something that the Victorians would consider magical or godlike and it is something that even as recently as the 1980s was nothing more than a sci-fi pipe-dream.

Also you can now have a device that sits in your pocket that is actually wirelessly connected to the entire planet thus creating for the first time in existence a human hive mind.

The actual birth of a human collective consciousness. Exciting stuff right? Miraculous in fact.

Well such a tool can either be used to evolve human consciousness and herald the dawn of a new era of mankind or it can just broadcast human stupidity on a scale never before imagined.

Yes here we are in 2013 and a 17 year old girl is sedated in hospital after pictures of her having oral sex with a boy at an Eminem concert in Slane Caste, Ireland went viral.

The pictures were only taken on Sunday but went viral extremely rapidly under the hash tag #slanegirl on Twitter and also spread rapidly on Facebook, 4chan, Tumblr, and Reddit and the incident is now the subject of a an investigation by the Irish police (note: 17 is actually the legal age in Ireland).

Once the pictures went viral the reactions were as predictable as they were depressing. An absolute avalanche of slut shaming directed towards the girl with a disturbingly high percentage of the vitriol coming from women.

This is what happens when your mentality is stuck at 2.0. All we are seeing in this case is the modern, all high-tech version of a biblical stoning to death and if you took part then really you are no different from this guy :

Yes I know this more than an ankle on display but just because you draw a different line in the sand as to the point as which you start slut shaming it does not make your mentality any different.

Yes it seems that human progress is on two different speeds. Human science continues to be amazing. Just in the last four years alone we have seen the creation of the first truly synthetic organism, the first commercially available Jet Pack, the world’s first integrated twin-lens Full HD 3D camcorder, a molecular robot created from DNA which measures just 4 nanometres wide and the rise of smart electric car.

As for how we relate to each other sexually as a species however, you can choose to be 3.0 and evolve to next level consciousness or you can stay stuck on 2.0 and join the race to the bottom.
